"Kindle edition" is the electronic version of the book -- one you would download to your e-reader.

Of course it's cheaper, because they don't have to print it on anything.

The Kindle edition uses recycled electrons for the text. The dead-tree editions all use cellulose and inks and are therefore more expensive per book.

Kindle is basically an eReader device with 6" eInk display and is specifically made for reading eBooks. The purpose of eInk screen is to save you from getting eye strains.

So Kindle edition means that this book can only be read on Kindle.

It's ebook version, for the Kindle ebook reader. These ebook readers are getting more and more popular, and you can find many books available in Kindle Edition.

You need not have a Kindle device to read Kindle edition books (people just call them Kindle books). You just need to download the free Kindle reading app, and you can read Kindle books on different devices including the computers:

Definitely it'll be best to read these ebooks on Kindle e-readers, as they are devices specially designed for reading purpose.

Hope that helps.
