My kindle won't connect to wifi?

I've tried restarting my kindle and my router. I know that the password is correct and I am connected to the wifi right now on my laptop so why wont my kindle connect? Please help!

Added (1). Yes the wifi on my kindle is enabled, and yes i am sure i am typing the password in correctly. I know my kindle can connect to wifi because I have done it in the past. And I have shut off all other devices that would be connecting to the wifi so that the kindle will be the only thing connecting to it and it still is not working.

Sounds like it may be an issue with you either mistyping the password, or possibly that your Kindle cannot support Wi-Fi. Depending on your kindle, it may only support 3G. If neither of these is the problem, it is most likely an issue with your router. Try figuring out your router's IP address. Type that into your web browser. You will need to find and check the status of something along the lines of hoe many IPs it is allowed to hand out. Try raising this number to a number higher than the number of devices that use Wi-Fi. If this does not help you, try moving closer to the router.

First I would make sure that you have the wifi turned on the kindle. If It's on then you have a defective device and will have to contact amazon on getting it replaced.
