Is the Kindle Fire HD 7' the same size as a regular Kindle Fire?
My brother knew I was trying to save for a Kindle Fire, so for Christmas he bought me a case for it. On the box it says Case for Kindle Fire, but I'm trying to save for a Kindle Fire HD. I made the mistake of opening the box. Will the HD fit in the case? The 7' I believe is what I am getting. I'm not sure if its the same size as the regular.
Yes, the normal kindle fire is 7 inches. I have one, I would know. :o)
No they are not of the same size. Here are their sizes:
Kindle Fire HD: 7.6" x 5.4" x 0.4"
Kindle Fire: 7.44" x 4.72" x 0.45"
So the case won't fit. If your brother buy it from Amazon, it should be fine to return it even you've opened the box. Try to contact them.
Hope that helps.
Kindle Fire HD is slightly thinner and wider compared to Kindle Fire, so the cover of Kindle won't fit Fire HD. You can find a complete list of accessories available for each Kindle Fire device here: http://www.amazon.com/b/ref=sa_menu_kaccf3?ie=UTF8&node=5916439011
If you're not sure of the cover and if it was purchased from Amazon.com, contact Kindle support with details of the order or the purchaser's email address. They can check it out for you and even accept the return for refund. If it was purchased from a retail sore, you can get those details from your brother and get in touch with them.
Many retailers across US (if you're in US) sell various models of Kindles and accessories. You can walk in to the store and look at demo pieces. You can also check if the cover fits the Fire HD. Here's the list of the retailers selling Kindles (you might want to copy this entire link and paste it in the address bar of the browser): http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_buy_retail?nodeId=200589200#retail
Hope this helps.
