I'm saving up for the 32gb Kindle Fire HD but I just want to know how much storage you get for the 16gb and the 32gb. I'm not going to be storing many movies or shows but mostly games, apps and books.

It depends on the video quality. HD videos take more space. I suggest you buy the 32GB one.

If you are going in for more games, apps and books then 16Gb would be more than enough.

Discussion on 16Gb vs 32Gb storage, should be helpful on this decision:

HD movie is around 2.2 Gb while a HQ movies is around 700Mb-1Gb. From 16Gb on Kindle Fire HD you are given around 13.5Gb for use as the rest of it is taken by OS.

So you have 13.5 Gb where you can add 2 HD movies or 4-5 HQ movies and still use the rest of the 9Gb to the other places like games etc.
