Difference between kindle fire first and second gen?
Alright, so I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas and I was curious as to if it were a first or second generation, is there any way to easily tell without tearing the thing apart?
The Kindle Fire's 2nd Gen is called the Kindle Fire HD
it includes a front facing camera, faster processor, more memory, and a higher-resolution screen
The differences are slight, but there.
The 2nd Gen Fire is slimmer and has a wider bezel around the screen.
If you are actually using one, go into the device settings. A first generation Kindle will have a Flash Enabled switch and it will be Yes or No. The 2nd Generation doesn't come with Flash and you won't be able to turn this on.
Pennybags is correct… Also they differ in RAM, CPU, services and size.
1st Generation specs - 512MB RAM, 1.0 GHZ CPU, Location services not available, Heap size large 64MB
2nd Generation specs - 1024MB, 1.2GHZ CPU, Location Service Wi-Fi Based, Heap size large 256MB
