Can you go on the internet on kindle fire hd like you can on the ipad

Yes you can anywhere you have wifi available. In fact it has a dual band, dual antenna wifi capability which is useful in congested or interference-prone situations. The major difference between iPad and Kindle is many iPads have cellular (3g and/or 4g service, and the monthly fees and data limits) connectivity, whereas Kindle doesn't natively support this, just wifi. Yes you can go on internet just like an iPad… You can download different browsers or use its own silk browser… Depends on which you prefer. It has a dual wifi antenna which makes the downloading speed better than most of the other devices.

You can also use skype for video calling through its front facing HD camera… It has a pretty decent 1.3Ghz dual core HD processor which would be good enough for seamless browsing,
