Can 2 pregnant rabbits live and give birth in the same cage?
I am Curious, can 2 female rabbits kindle together and raise their babies in the same cage if they are bonded? I am thinking about breeding my 2 pedigree mini lop sisters before I get them de-sexed. Thanks.
No during pregnAncy rabbits become extremely protective and violent, they would kill anything that came close, if they could, if there were two pregnant rabbits in a cage they would both be there but only one would be breathing
That depends entirely on the size of the cage, and the amount of privacy for both. A 6ft long cage with multiple hiding boxes might work out. And if anything goes wrong, you should be able to divide it in half.
But honestly, there are more than enough homeless rabbits. Pedigree or not, it's really not necessary to breed them. Why not just enjoy them as pets?
Maybe. Depends on the rabbits.
I've had some of mine nest, give birth, and nurse in literally the same nest box. I have others that have to have their own area fenced off from the others because they get so aggressive.
If you want to keep them in the same area, it should be very large so they can have space away from eachother. If you see them starting to chase eachother separate them.
After the babies are born, if they get aggressive, you can put them in different areas. Make sure you get most of the nest material if you move them. Mommy rabbits usually don't mind the babies being moved around as long as they can find them.
Maybe but most likely not. Why take the chance of them killing each others kits? None of mine ever liked another doe with them after 5 months old.
